I’m open to projects and collaborations of all kinds. Please get in touch if you’d like to talk about working together.
My interest in editing is rooted in a deep childhood love of language and stories. I started my career as a children’s book editor at Tricycle Press, an imprint of Ten Speed. Later, I joined the staff of Heyday, editing adult nonfiction and children’s books (here’s an interview about one of the wonderful projects I helped with).
For the last fifteen-plus years I have consulted for a variety of publishers, organizations, and individuals, serving in editorial and communications roles and learning from an array of brilliant and creative colleagues. Most recently, I turned my storytelling lens to documentary filmmaking as associate producer and contributing writer of the film Counted Out: Math is Power.
I hope to contribute to an equitable and thriving story ecosystem, with less gatekeeping and more voices, with less rigidity and more diversity of story forms and avenues for sharing them.
I grew up in Lenape land / Philly, PA, and today live in Karkin Ohlone land / Martinez, CA. I love being part of our small-town Martinez community—hanging out on Main Street with family and friends, frequenting our local library, and walking in the hills. In addition to editing books, I’ve authored some fun books for babies!
